We serve Pediatric physical therapy clients ages 2-21 and adaptive horsemanship lessons ages 4-18+.
We offer pediatric physical therapy, which uses equine movement to address issues with mobility, range of motion, balance, coordination and strength, and adaptive horsemanship lessons, which teach the art of horsemanship with special attention to the individual rider's needs. Check out our services to learn more about what we do.
Our equine handlers follow horsemanship that focuses on the overall wellbeing of the horse—with an emphasis on balance, responsiveness and building a foundation of trust between horse and handler. Of course! We're always happy to welcome people to the ranch and give you a tour of our wonderful staff, horses and facility. Contact us to let us know when you'll be in the area and we'll find a time that works for you!
We have horses that range from retired show horses, trail ride/pleasure horses, working ranch horses and many more. Meet our horses to learn more about our herd!
We recommend wearing long pants of either cotton (sweat pants) or jean material, appropriate top layers for current weather conditions and shoes with a small heel for riding. We have many riding boots that were generously donated to us, so if you don’t have proper footwear, we can accommodate! We also have helmets available in sizes X-Small through X-large. During winter months, our indoor arena is heated only approximately 20 degrees above outside temperature. Our horses live outside year round, so to keep them comfortable we dress ourselves for the weather!
Lucky for us, we not only have an outdoor arena, but also a beautiful indoor arena, so even in rain or cold weather, you'll be comfortable during your lesson or session. However, if the weather is too harsh or if our facility needs to close for any unexpected reason, we will notify you and offer make-up lesson dates.
Of course! We are happy to work with all members of your treatment team, from your therapists, doctors, nutritionists and more.
To help keep our horses, staff and participants safe, our weight limit for adaptive riders is 180 lbs.
Absolutely! Volunteers are the core foundation of our programs. Volunteers assist with a variety of tasks and chores around the ranch and all help is greatly appreciated! We offer a one-hour volunteer orientation that will give you a well rounded idea of what Two Bear TRC offers and go over the many ways you can be involved. Visit our Volunteer section to learn more or contact us if you'd like to become a volunteer.
We are forever grateful for our donors. Your donation helps keep the cost of services affordable for all our riders, provides funds for veterinarian care and special feed for our equines, provides higher education opportunities for our instructors and therapists and provides scholarships for families who cannot afford services. We are also grateful for the generous donations of tack, toys, therapy tools and more. Visit our Donate page to learn more and make a contribution today or contact us if you'd like to arrange a donation of supplies.
Two Bear TRC is an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which solely provides therapies and activities in both clinical settings and with the use of equines. While we are graciously supported by the Goguen Family, their support is mainly limited to free use of the facilities. This greatly offsets our operating costs, but Two Bear TRC still must fund our operating costs (salaries, training, insurance, licensing, etc.) through revenue from operations and donations.
