Teaching the art of horsemanship with special attention to each rider's needs.
Adaptive horsemanship lessons use special equipment and teaching techniques to best facilitate the ability of the individual to enable him/her to interact with a horse. The goal of this recreational program is to teach the art of horsemanship, both in the saddle and on the ground, in a way that fits each person's abilities and encourages empathy, self-regulation and control and communication skills through building a relationship with a horse. This program can be done in individual lessons or groups of up to three participants. Groups pair two or three participants to learn to work together to accomplish a variety of riding games and obstacle courses. Each group is matched with riders of a similar ability and experience level to create a fun and positive learning environment while advancing their horsemanship skills as a team.
Adaptive Horsemanship lessons are provided by our Certified PATH Inlt. instructors. Each of our instructors is committed to continuing their growth and understanding of horsemanship and adaptive teaching techniques to be able to create and share a deep and meaningful experience with our participants and horses.
We're proud of the time and work that goes into helping our riders reach their fullest potential.

An assessment is performed to allow the instructor and participant to get to know each other prior to starting lessons. It begins with a verbal assessment which asks the participant or family about goals and why they want to ride a horse and ends with a short riding session. This gives our instructor a solid idea about what adaptive equipment to use and what lesson plan to create to help reach the participant's goals. Cost: $45
Lessons are offered in terms throughout the year. Please refer to the lesson calendar to see what would work for you and your family and contact us to register.
